REPORTING CROP ACREAGE

Acreage reports on all cropland must be filed with our office in order for producers to be eligible for program benefits such as DCP/ACRE payments, commodity loans, and CRP annual rental payments.  Maps are now available at our office; please call ahead to make sure yours are printed!  Planting dates are again required to be listed on your maps along with the crop and acreage.
Final date to certify acres is July 15, 2011.

Prevented planting and failed acreage should also be reported.  Prevented planting occurs when a crop cannot be planted during the established planting period because of a natural disaster. To be filed in a timely manner, prevented planted reports must be submitted no later than 15 calendar days after the final planting date for the specific crops.

Failed acreage comprises tracts of properly-planted and managed crops that did not grow or were destroyed due to a natural disaster before it could be brought to harvest. Acreage reports for failed acreage must be filed before disposition of the crop, and producers must be able to establish to the satisfaction of the county committee that the crop failed and was prevented from being replanted through the normal planting period because of natural disaster conditions.
