2008 SURE Quality

Becker County has recently been approved for a quality adjustment factor for 2008 corn due to low test weight.  A quality adjustment factor will be used to reflect average price or quality discounts received by producers because of loss of quality or excessive moisture in disaster affected areas.  Quality adjustment factors will be set by county, crop, type, and IU.

To be eligible for a quality adjustment in the 2008 SURE program producers had to produce corn in Becker County, average 49 pounds or less on their entire corn crop and sold some 2008 corn before January 1, 2009.

Producers who may qualify for an adjustment factor due to low test weight corn are encouraged to stop into the Becker County FSA Office to apply.  Applications must be accepted before September 30, 2010.  A request for a quality adjustment factor is currently pending for Mahnomen County.  Any producers that have low quality corn located in Mahnomen County are encouraged to contact the Mahnomen office.  All eligibility criteria will be the same as Becker County if approved.
