Have shade trees and fruit trees professionally pruned this month or next. It's easier to see a tree's structure when no leaves are present, and the fresh cuts won't pose a disease or insect problem to oaks, elms, apples, or other trees when pruned in winter. Some trees, such as maples, birch, honeylocust are likely to drip lots of sap from wound sites in spring, but they should be fine as long as no more than 25% of their canopy was pruned out. Extension Office Drop Box If you need to drop something off after hours you may use the drop off box located at the Human Services Building front entrance. Be sure to put your paperwork in an envelope and put attention 4H Office on it.
Recycle Printer Cartridges 4-H Continues to Collect Spent Cartridges
The Becker County 4-H Council is collecting spent cartridges from printers, copy machines, and fax machines including ink and laser technology. Working with LazerTek, 4-H receives cash from the company for each useable ink cartridge we collect. Businesses and individuals that are willing to donate spent cartridges are asked to call the Becker County Extension Office at 846-7328. There is a collection box in the mail room at the Courthouse and one in the Human Services Building by the Extension Office.
